Responsibilities
• Ensure all project activities comply with AVSI’s Code of Conduct (COC), Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) policies, safeguarding policies, and accountability standards.
• Oversee the effective execution of all project components, including psychosocial support (PSS), parenting skills sessions, remedial classes, and school infrastructure rehabilitation.
• Serve as reporting line for for field staff, conducting daily follow-ups and coordinating weekly or ad-hoc meetings to monitor activity progress, identify challenges, and plan upcoming activities.
• Work closely with the Programs Coordinator to develop, monitor, and update work plans, field monitoring plans, and budget forecasts, follow up documents.
• Identify potential risks and challenges in project implementation, and promptly inform the Programs Coordinator to facilitate the development of mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, provide feedback, and offer suggestions for future implementation and budget management (lessons learned).
• In collaboration with the Liaison Manager, lead coordination efforts with local partners and relevant ministries to ensure smooth project implementation.
• Ensure the implementation of the Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and collaborate with the MEAL department to provide timely and appropriate responses to complaints and feedback.
• Ensure effective communication with other departments (MEAL, Communication, Operations, Logistic, Liaison Officer) to ensure seamless project implementation.
• Ensure the delivery of means of verification, including photos, beneficiary consent forms, success stories, and case studies.
• Attend relevant sector meetings (e.g., Protection, Child Protection) and report to the Programs Coordinator on key developments and outcomes.
• Plan and implement capacity-building initiatives for AVSI staff in the areas of protection and safeguarding. Offer technical input for new proposals and ongoing protection projects.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the dignity and privacy of participants throughout all interventions, ensuring compliance with AVSI’s protection mainstreaming principles.
• Support additional tasks as needed based on project requirements, such as data entry on Activity Info

Qualifications
At least 3-5 years of experience in education and protection projects in complex humanitarian settings, particularly Syria.
• Experience in donor reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and budget management (preferable).
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with local partners and community stakeholders.
• English proficiency (oral and written).

Specific Vacancy Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Development Studies, Education, Social Sciences).
